Two or more lighting configurations are shot at the same time, of the same scene/action.
(Lighting configurations could be moving light sources or stationary light sources.)
Resulting in a separate channel of footage for each lighting configuration.
These channels can be used separately or combined as layers for editorial or compositing needs.
Potential uses:
-Record a scene in which more then one lighting scenario is required. For example:
Lighting for day/night, sunny/stormy, interior/exterior, of the same moment in time.
Character / scenes involving time travel, time manipulation, teleportation, multiple personalities.
-Composite a shot of multiple lighting configurations. For example:
Background light, edge light, key light, fill light, etc.
-Chroma key or luma key or motion tracking channel can be shot with separate lighting, at the same time as the scene is recorded with the scene lighting.
-Using many lighting scenarios at the same time, anywhere from 2-180, in order to:
Record elements which can be used in many different environments and lighting scenarios.
Record content for VR or AR playback in which the scene can be dynamically re-lit.
Additional feature
Record video and stills (using strobe lighting) simultaneously, either on the same camera or on two or more cameras.
